Obsidian is considered one of the most important mid-to-late game ores in The Forge, because of its usefulness in crafting. Unlike common ores you encounter early in your journey, Obsidian is tied to a specific location, and has quite a low drop chance. Here’s the location where you can mine Obsidian and more information about it such as its multiplier, trait, price and more.
To obtain Obsidian, head into the region that contains Volcanic Rock, which is mainly found inside the Forgotten Kingdom. This area becomes accessible once players reach level 10 and complete Sensei Moro’s quests – after which a portal is unlock which provides the way to World 2.
Once you’re in Forgotten Kingdom, head into the Ruined Cave and take the right passage into Descent’s Beginning. Keep going and take a right which leads you to the Ashen Passage. On the right side, look for the Basalt Veins – break them and you’ll see a tunnel that leads to a secret location (Volcanic Depths) that’s packed with Volcanic Rocks.

However, there will be multiple tough enemies that will make mining difficult for you, so make sure you bring your best weapons, armor, and pickaxe.
However, simply mining the rock does not guarantee Obsidian. The ore has an approximate 1 in 333 chance of dropping and due to this, farming Obsidian requires preparation, patience, and the right gear. In terms of price, it sells for 35.25 Gold and has a multiplier of 2.35x.
If you’re looking to speed up the process, you should invest in pickaxes with higher mining power and runes that boost either Luck or Yield. Luck helps increase the probability of rare drops, while Yield gives chances for extra resources per strike. Both effects significantly improve the number of Obsidian pieces gained over time, especially during long mining sessions.
Lightite, Arcane, or Demonic Pickaxe are some of the best options:

The reason Obsidian is so highly sought-after is the +30% maximum health effect applied when it is used in armor crafting recipes. This buff is substantial, especially when tackling tougher zones or surviving deep-cave enemies that deal heavy damage. The best part is that it can stack with other extra health boosts.
In short, to farm this ore efficiently, locate areas with volcanic rocks, clear hostile creatures beforehand, and start mining with your best pickaxe. Make the most of the rock clusters respawning, and you will have Obsidian in The Forge.
