miner shard the forge

Game News

December 12, 2025

Miner Shards are one of the most sought-after rune types in The Forge, especially for players who want to boost their mining speed, rare ore chances, and overall efficiency. Unlike traditional ores and resources that come directly from mining nodes, Miner Shards are obtained through combat. More specifically, you need to defeat certain enemies scattered throughout the game’s cave systems. Here’s how to get them.

How to Get Miner Shards in The Forge

Players can obtain Miner Shards from creatures such as Delver Zombies, which are found within the Stonewake’s Cross caves. These undead foes are mid-tier threats that provide runes at a low but consistent rate, making the area a popular farming spot.

Plus, Bombers – hostile skeleton creatures located in the Forgotten Kingdom’s Ruined Cave’s Ashen Passage area – also drop Miner Shards alongside Essences and Blast Chips. Because both enemy types are relatively common compared to bosses or elite variants, farming runs usually focus on clearing them repeatedly to gather as many runes as possible.

Some Miner Shards grant Luck, increasing the odds of rare materials like Obsidian or Demonite appearing during mining. Others may provide Mining Power, boosting the strength of each pickaxe swing, or Swift Mining, which reduces node break time.

Some versions include Yield bonuses, allowing extra drops from the same ore node. Because of this wide range of benefits, Miner Shards are important upgrades for players entering deeper, high-tier regions.

Farming Miner Shards is all about finding the balance between survivability and damage output. Since you’ll be battling enemies rather than mining, wearing strong armor and keeping a reliable weapon equipped is crucial. It’s best to run in loops through areas where Delver Zombies spawn, clearing them quickly and resetting them.

Once you get the hang of the enemy paths and respawn timings, your rune collection rate will significantly increase.

Once you’ve obtained Miner Shards in The Forge, you can slot them into compatible pickaxes to boost their mining potential. Late-game pickaxes have multiple rune slots you can use runes to help your resource-gathering speed, especially when you’re focused on higher-tier ores. If you’re short of money, you can also sell them for $25 each.
