The Obsidiron Chest is one of the most sought-after rewards in 99 Nights in the Forest. Unlike standard loot containers, this chest isn’t something you stumble upon while exploring. You’ll have to complete a task during a Meteor event, gather rare resources, and use the game’s crafting system to build it yourself. Here’s everything you need to know.
The process starts with a Meteor Shower. This random world event will change the sky’s color, and you’ll see the message: The sky is on fire. When the meteors land, they leave behind craters filled with valuable materials. More importantly, the Tool Workshop itself changes form. It becomes a lava-fueled variant, guarded by Meteor Crabs. You’ll need access to this workshop if you want to unlock the Obsidiron Chest recipe.
To craft an Obsidiron Chest, you’ll need three ingredients:
Because each ingredient requires time, some luck, and involves combat, you’ll need to clear multiple meteor sites before you have enough materials to work with. If you have teammates for this purpose, it will get easier.
Inside the transformed Workshop, you’ll notice the usual crafting stations have changed. To actually create high-tier items, you’ll need to interact with the Meteor Anvil. If it isn’t active yet, look around the structure and collect the scattered anvil parts to complete it. Once assembled, the anvil becomes your main crafting area for meteor-based recipes.
With the materials in hand, place them into the Meteor Anvil’s interface. Select the Obsidiron Chest recipe and confirm the crafting process. This will consume your shards and ingots, but rewards you with a blueprint of a completed chest.
Go back to your base and place it anywhere you like. When opened, the Obsidiron Chest functions like other loot containers but has a much higher chance of granting late-game rewards, making it one of the best ways to upgrade your gear.
