Manchester City have signed Algerian left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a five-year deal, with the transfer completed in early June 2025. The move is reported to be worth around £31 million, potentially rising with add-ons.

Ait-Nouri, 24, was a standout performer for Wolves in the 2024-25 season, featuring in nearly every league match and contributing significantly in attack. Known for his pace, dribbling ability, and overlapping runs, he offers a dynamic option at left-back - a position where City lacked a natural specialist.

City moved swiftly to complete the signing ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup registration deadline. The club views Ait-Nouri as a long-term solution on the left flank, potentially allowing Josko Gvardiol to shift back to central defence.

Ait-Nouri expressed pride in joining the Premier League champions and cited Pep Guardiola as a major factor behind his decision. And in a recent interview with Jio Hotstar, the new Man City player has opened up on his dreams and ambitions at the Etihad stadium.

"To be honest, I'm very happy and proud. Playing for a club like Manchester City was one of my goals. I'm eager to wear this shirt and give my best," said Ait-Nouri.

The new Manchester City player also said that the decision to join the Cityzens was an easy one for him and vowed to give his everything for the club.

"It was definitely an easy decision. We all know the team-last year they proved to be the best in the world. The players are amazing, and the coach as well. It's a pleasure to train under Pep Guardiola. I'm here to learn and to show what I can do. I will give my best," he added.

Manchester City had an underwhelming outing in the Club World Cup and will commence their campaign against Wolves on August 16, which ensures a return to the Molineux for Ait-Nouri. Before the start of the campaign, City will play a friendly against Palermo on August 9.
